Many careers-related events take place throughout the year, including those organised within your course, by the Careers Service or those taking place outside of university.

Here you can find further details on future events and book your place if required. The majority of events listed are organised by the Careers Service and take place within the university, however other relevant UK-wide career events may also be listed here too.

You may also receive emails from your Careers Adviser to notify you of any relevant upcoming events, however it's worth checking the Events page regularly for up-to-date listings of all events...this way you'll know about the events taking place that are relevant to you and your career plans.

Psychology4Graduates

Registration opens for the BPS 2015 Psychology4Graduates. Registration is open for the British Psychological Society’s (BPS) 2015 Psychology4Graduates event taking place in London on Wednesday 2 December. Click HERE form more details.

BPS Scottish Branch Annual Undergraduate Conference

BPS Scottish Branch Annual Undergraduate Conference takes place on Saturday 21 March at the University of Strathclyde. This is a great event for students and includes the following:

• number of key speakers talking about their areas of research
• representatives from all areas of psychology so you can learn more about a career in psychology
• selection of companies that recruit psychology graduates

The event is free to attend however you need to book a place which can be done via the website here.

30th Annual PsyPAG

We are delighted to announce that this year's 30th Annual PsyPAG conference will take place at the University of Glasgow. This conference is open to all postgraduate psychology students.
Registration and abstract submission for the conference are now open. Please have a look at the conference website (http://psypag.psy.gla.ac.uk/) for information regarding this and also information about the social events. You can also follow us on twitter (@PsyPAG2015) or like us on Facebook (PsyPAG Annual Conference). This conference will be an exciting event and an excellent opportunity to network with people from within the field of psychology.

Bursaries are available for this conference. There are 30 bursaries for UK students, of up to £100, and 3 bursaries of up to £300 for international students. Applications for these are also on the conference website.

Upcoming Events

SLS CAREERS INSIGHT EVENT 2015

When? Wednesday 4th February

Time? 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Where? Psychology Event LT3

What? The event will feature speakers talking about their specific career path since leaving university, their current job role and tips for students. For Psychology, speakers include an ex-student on the path to becoming a Clinical Psychologist and another ex-student now working in the Justice Unit for the Scottish Government.

This event is a great opportunity for students to gain an insight into current employment prospects as well as learn about a range of career options available to students and speak to people working within industries they may be looking to gain experience in.

Ruth Anderson will give a talk on the 4th of February. Ruth is a former Psychology student at Heriot-Watt University and currently on a Clinical Psychology training course at Glasgow University. Booking is essential (click here to book a place).
